Your files stay on your device
Nothing is uploaded. Your browser opens, changes and saves the file on your phone or computer. We don't keep a copy, because we never get one. Close the tab and it's gone.
How we keep it privateExamples
Results vary with how the PDF was made; you see the real size before downloading.

What gets smaller, and what doesn’t
Most big PDFs are big because of the photos or scans inside them. We re-save those pictures at a lower quality and size; text, lines and fonts are copied unchanged, so they stay sharp and selectable.
A PDF that is mostly text is usually small already and may not shrink. In that case we tell you and you keep your original.
